In which languages are the services offered? 

All services are available in German, English or French.

How long does an investigation in cases of bullying allegations or allegations of sexual harassment or discrimination take?

This depends very much on the case at hand. Experience shows that it takes two to four months until the result of the investigation is available in a written report with a conclusion and recommendations.

When does it make sense to appoint internal confidants and when should an external confidential advice center be appointed?

Internal confidants must be discreet, trustworthy and credible. It  is absolutely necessary for them to have a position outside the line, which  allows them to take a largely independent position and represent it to both  the person affected and the person accused. Examples of suitable candidates  are employees of the social services department, equal opportunity officers,  occupational health and safety officers or members of the employee committee.  HR professionals are not suitable for this role because their knowledge and  tasks from the one position may conflict with the other. In small and  medium-sized companies, it is therefore usually difficult to find a suitable  person for this function.

 

A very good alternative or addition to internal confidants are  external specialists who take up the task of an external confidential advice  center. These should be qualified experts in dealing with bullying, sexual  harassment, and/or discrimination or other workplace problems and may have a  variety of backgrounds (psychology, jurisprudence). As external observers, they  have a higher level of detachment, which makes it easier to assume a neutral  position. External confidants can also help to avoid conflicts of interest  due to professional or personal relationships. This is often what those  affected value most, and even specifically request.  

 

How far in advance do we need to schedule training for our managers?

We can usually provide training within one month of your request. However, these are often planned in advance for a longer period of time.

We already have some points in our staff regulations that address bullying, sexual harassment and discrimination. Could you check if these are enough?

Yes, our services include revising regulations, which we do very often and charge onthe basis of time and effort.

Where are the services offered?

Our services are all available either directly at our office in Zurich, online by video call or by phone.

Are there parking spaces in front of the Center Against Bullying and Harassment in Zurich-Enge?

In general, we recommend that you come by public transport, as our offices in Zurich are just a 3-minute walk from the Enge Train Station. We do not have parking, but there are Blue Zone parking lots nearby, public parking at the Enge Harbor and a parking garage nearby at the Park Hyatt Hotel.
